First Impression:When I opened my package from ry.com.au, I saw the beautiful packaging that contained my Redken Diamond Oil. The box is gold, with a reflective shine. The product is featured on the image. My first impression was that this is a beautiful, high end and specialised hair treatment. I wasn't disappointed when I opened the box - Diamond Oil comes in a beautiful glass bottle, the shape reminiscent of diamonds and something precious. The application device is a glass dropper which has a button on top of the lid, to dispense the product and reduce waste. I couldn't wait to try it so I read the instructions and discovered that I could use a couple of drops on dry hair. I immediately did so and at first my hair felt grabby. But once I combed it through it felt lovely. My hair is over processed with bleach damage (hairdressers do things to their own hair that we wouldn't do on clients!) so it absorbed the oil pretty quickly. The scent wasn't overpowering - it also didn't linger. I admit I was surprised at the scent though, it was kind of like an antiperspirant. It was nice but not what I expected.

Application:Fast forward to the next morning and I am getting ready for work. I used my GHD to straighten my hair as usual and I felt utter joy at how my hair's texture had changed. It was so much smoother and noticeably shinier and hydrated. Already I am feeling that the very few drops I administered last night are working hard within my hair's structure.Day 3, 4, & 5 - On day 3 I put six drops in my hair when it was dry. My hair is super porous and it sucked most of it up but it did leave my hair feeling slightly oily and a little flat. I left it overnight and straightened my hair the next day. It felt amazing! The cuticle was sealed down and I had lovely shine. Day 5, I washed my hair and put about 5 drops in while it was wet. My hair absorbed it readily and it took me less time to blow dry my hair. I like volume and I realise now that if I put one or two drops too many, my hair will be flatter than I like.The bottle is so huge and because of this I assumed that I needed to use more product. I have quite a few hair oils/serums and they are in much smaller bottles, and it could be because of this that I was generally more careful about how much I put in my hair at a time. I have compared the bottle with a regular sized lipstick. It's HUGE! I was not disappointed at all when I saw how much Diamond Oil is inside that beautiful bottle. It really is good value for money.

Day 6 - Tonight I used a treatment. I shampooed and dried my hair until it was almost dry and applied my cream treatment (this time I tried the Wella SP moisture treatment). I added 6 drops of Diamond Oil to the treatment and left it for half an hour. I rinsed well and then put in four drops when I was done. My hair feels great while wet, and let my hair dry naturally.Results:It has been three days since I washed my hair and it is feeling as it normally does by now, dry and aggravated. My hair is what I would call tortured though so I am not surprised. I used three to four drops of Diamond Oil to try to seal down the cuticle and get an extra day before I have to wash my hair, it does the job nicely and I find that it takes about half an hour for the oil to really soak in and along with a little dry shampoo, I'm satisfied.All in all I have noticed a change in my hair since using Diamond Oil. The benefits definitely increase exponentially and my hair feels much calmer and more deeply moisturised. As a professional hairdresser, if I used Redken in my salon, I would definitely recommend this product but would spend quite a while discussing how to use it effectively. It is deceiving when your hair is wet and it is very easy to overdose! I was impressed with the packaging, the dispenser, the scent and consistency. First Impression: I was so excited opening the Redken Diamond Oil Amber and couldn't wait to try it. The packaging is quite nice and I like the Gold theme. The bottle itself is a nice design, it is not plain and boring. It looks like a quality product. I'm not too sure about the dropper though because it looks like you can’t use it once you’re near the bottom of the bottle. It is a great size bottle and I only need to use a tiny bit so the bottle will last quite a while. You use this product to strengthen, moisturise and intensify shine to dry/damaged hair. My hair is quite dry and damaged from hair colouring so I’m expecting to see a difference using this product. Application:I have used it as a treatment after washing my hair and found it to work well in my hair. My hair is normally quite knotty after washing but when I apply the oil to my hair it smooths the hair and it is easy to brush. In the morning my hair is still easy to brush and has shine. Using it on dry hair does add shine but in my hair it tends to make sections look oily if I don’t blow dry it. When I blow dry my hair after using the product my hair is shiny and looks healthy. Results:I would give the product 5 stars. After using this product daily for 2 weeks I have noticed my hair looks healthier and is easier to manage.I would definitely recommend this product. First Impression:
Being selected to trial the Redken Diamond Oil Shatterproof Shine, I had not heard or seen this product before so was very excited to test it out. I currently use Moroccan Oil on my hair occasionally. The product is meant to condition and turn up the shine on dull/damaged hair. It infuses hair with a nourishing blend of coriander and apricot oils to help seal in moisture and intensify shine. So basically giving your hair a little extra TLC. You can use this product on dry or damp hair too. My first impression was very good. The bottle would be fit to sit next to my perfume bottles as its quite pretty. It looks very luxurious. It has a pleasant scent also. You apply the product using a pipette dropper which meant precise, no waste dosage.
Application:
Using the product on my dry hair, I found that the 2-3 drops didn't go very far. It seemed to disappear in my hair. I did end up increasing to 6 drops to get more coverage. My hair is very thick. It helped reduce the frizz slightly and did add shine to the hair also. I really enjoyed using the Redken Diamond Oil when my hair was damp. The product just seemed to spread through the hair easier and made it easier to blow dry. After blow-drying I would normally use a product to reduce the frizz but after using the Diamond Oil I didn’t feel I needed to use the extra frizz control product, as the frizz wasn’t an issue. I used as an overnight treatment, applying to damp hair before bed. I woke up to my hair smelling and feeling great. I didn't find the product made my hair feel or look oily which can be a problem with similar products. Its feels very light in the hair.
I used the product on my 4 year old daughter, Hannah's hair and especially loved the results on her hair. She has fine, long hair with curls on the ends. After applying the product to my daughters hair it made the curls more defined and beautiful. Her hair looked amazing and I got commented on how nice her hair looked that particular day.

Overall I did like using the product and felt my hair did benefit from using it. My hair looked healthier and I couldn't help but feel I was helping my hair stay protected. I would recommend this product to my friends and give it 4 stars.

First Impression:

Redken's Diamond Oil Shatterproof Shine it comes in a beautiful glass bottle with a dropper to dispense the product. It almost looks like a bottle of perfume, the oil is an orange, ambery-coloured liquid. This product says it conditions and turns up the shine, which is different to other oils, which mainly add shine.Application:You can use this product many ways. First I tried it pre shampooing. I applied about 5-6 drops and massaged it through, then washed as normal. My hair felt more conditioned than normal, but not weighed down in any way. Second I used it on wet hair before blowdrying. This made my hair much more manageable and very soft. My hair was was softer and again, not weighed down. I also used it as an overnight treatment. On some days I also applied it to my hair a few hours before shampooing while I was at home. My hair was much shinier, conditioned and healthier too. This product has many benefits because you can use it in so many ways. You only use a small amount so the bottle will last for ages. The products smells beautiful thanks to the coriander and apricot oils. Results: My hair was definitely more nourished, and the great thing with this product is that you can use it daily and in so many ways, so your hair stays healthy. I would rate this product 4.5 stars. Just be careful with the bottle, you don't want to break it. I would definitely recommend this product.
