1. Who we are

This Privacy Policy explains how JB Rebus Pty Ltd (ABN [59 618 170 102]) trading as RY ("RY", "we", "us" or "our") collects, holds, uses and discloses personal information through ry.com.au and our related services (the "Services"). We are bound by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

2. What personal information we collect

•      Contact details: your name, delivery and billing addresses, email address and phone number.

•      Account details: your login details, order history, saved items, loyalty points, gift cards, referrals and product reviews.

•      Order and payment details: what you buy, delivery details and payment confirmation. We do not store full card numbers; payments are processed by our payment providers.

•      Customer support details: the information you give us when you contact us.

•      Usage data: device and browser information, IP address, pages viewed, and how you interact with our website and emails, collected through cookies, pixels and similar technologies.

We do not intentionally collect sensitive information, such as health information. If you choose to share it with us, for example when asking for product advice, we use it only to respond to you.

You can browse our website without giving us your name. To place an order, we need your contact and delivery details, so we can't deal with you anonymously or under a pseudonym for orders.

3. How we collect it

We collect personal information directly from you when you place an order, create an account, sign up for emails or SMS, enter a promotion, leave a review or contact us. We also collect it automatically when you use our website or open our emails, and from service providers that help us run the Services, such as Shopify, our payment providers and delivery partners.

4. How we use it

We use your personal information to:

•      process your orders, payments, deliveries, returns and exchanges;

•      create and manage your account, loyalty points and gift cards;

•      provide customer support;

•      send you marketing by email, SMS or post where you have agreed to receive it or the law otherwise allows, and tailor advertising on our website and other platforms;

•      detect and prevent fraud and keep the Services secure;

•      improve our website, products and range; and

•      comply with our legal obligations.

5. Who we disclose it to

We may disclose your personal information to:

•      service providers who help us run our business, including Shopify (our e-commerce platform), payment and buy-now-pay-later providers, delivery and fulfilment partners, customer support tools, email and SMS platforms, and analytics providers such as Google Analytics;

•      advertising platforms such as Google, Meta and Microsoft Bing, through cookies and pixels, to measure and tailor our advertising;

•      related companies within our corporate group;

•      a buyer or successor of our business, as described in section 7; and

•      courts, government agencies and law enforcement where required or authorised by law.

Other than as described in section 7, we do not sell your personal information to third parties.

6. Overseas disclosure

Some of our service providers store or process personal information outside Australia, including in the United States and Canada (Shopify) and in other countries where those providers operate. We take reasonable steps to ensure overseas recipients handle your personal information consistently with the APPs.

7. If we sell or restructure our business

If we sell, transfer or restructure all or part of our business or assets, including the ry.com.au website and its customer records, your personal information may be transferred to the buyer or successor. We will require the buyer to use it only for purposes consistent with this Privacy Policy. You can unsubscribe or ask for your information to be deleted at any time.

8. Direct marketing

You can opt out of marketing at any time by clicking unsubscribe in our emails, replying STOP to our SMS messages, or contacting us. We will still send you messages about your account and orders.

9. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to run our website, remember your preferences, analyse traffic and tailor advertising. You can manage your choices through our cookie banner or block cookies in your browser settings, although some parts of the website may not work properly if you do. You can also manage personalised ads through your Google, Meta and Microsoft ad settings.

10. Security and retention

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure, including secure hosting and limiting access to staff and providers who need it. We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy or to meet legal requirements, such as tax record-keeping, then destroy or de-identify it. If a data breach is likely to cause you serious harm, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) as required by law.

11. Access, correction and deletion

You can ask to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you by contacting us. We may need to verify your identity first. We will respond within 30 days and won't charge you for making a request. If we refuse a request, we will tell you why and how to complain.

12. Complaints

If you have a concern about how we have handled your personal information, please contact us and we will respond within 30 days. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the OAIC at www.oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.

13. Children

Our Services are not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has given us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
