I bought this hair dryer 5 years ago now according to my account and it has not missed a beat. I wish I could say the same for my GHD straightener that just died after less time than this.
I use this at least twice a week every week on my long wavy hair. My hair is not thick, but there is lots of it so drying my hair used to take minimum 30 minutes with a lesser quality brand. This hair dryer dries my hair way faster than any other hair dryer I've ever used (I use a rounded, vented ceramic brush along with it) it takes maybe 10 minutes now from start to finish. Even in salon I usually end up with 2 girls blow drying my hair because it takes so long, and the Parlux 3800 can do it quicker than whatever they're using.
My hair never feels fried or rough, it just needs a run over with my hair straightener to smooth it out and make it look silky (my hair still looks a bit bouffy after drying - I've read that these dryers can make your hair look like you've straightened your hair - eliminating the need for a straightener - I have not experienced this however it may be possible with other hair types as it does leave quite a soft, smooth finish)
The build quality is fantastic - you can feel that it is well made and the colors on offer are gorgeous. I only wish I needed more than one just so I could choose a new color (not that I don't love the purple, I would just love to have a few different ones!)
I got it at an excellent price on sale (under $150!) and I'm so happy I bought it when I did. It was an excellent investment. If you are not sure whether to splurge on this you definitely should you will not be disappointed! This is the 3rd most powerful option in the brand at 2100 watts. I imagine the others above it are just as excellent.
