Jane Iredale are the leaders in all natural makeup and I truly believe in what the brand represents and Smooth Affair is an impressive facial primer. Designed to brighten skin and prolong the wear of makeup, Smooth Affair Facial Primer & Brightener helps to soften skin and have it feeling smooth. Smooth Affair is a lovely base for makeup however the lovely lightweight liquid base do not adhere to my skin for a long period of time which is disappointing. Enriched with beautiful anti-ageing ingredients including grapefruit, apple extracts, green tea, white tea, coconut and honeysuckle (yum!), Smooth Affair acts to not only assist with makeup as a primer but to also reduce the appearance of fine lines and hydrate. While I do feel as though Smooth Affair is hydrating and feels comfortable on my skin (no irritation), I cannot yet tell if the product has reduced the appearance of fine lines around my eyes. While it pains me to say this, I can declare that as a primer Smooth Affair is good, but not great because within a few hours there is shine on my skin and it can tend to look oily. Having said that though, my makeup is not sliding off - it is just not looking as fresh as it could do. Jane Iredale states that Smooth Affair is so hydrating and healthy for your skin that it can be used as a night moisturiser, which is great but I have always been under the impression that a moisturiser absorbs in to the skin and a primer is a thin layer which sits over the skin so this has left me a little confused. The scent is stunning: a soft, light citrus experience which I love but I do feel the formula could do with a little more perfecting so that it truly stands out from the rest.
